Just follow the same procedures for installing 2.1 but use the nandroid backup of your 2.0.1.

yea i had to downgrade back to 2.0.1 myself. It was pretty simple. This is what i did...

the file that you were supposed to save on desktop from your sdcard BCDMRS-xxxxxx what ever it was name (The backup file) copy paste that folder back into the sdcard and put it in the folder (SDCARD/nandroid/console=tty$XXXX/ Folder) once file is copied run the droid root helper and then once the droid root is loaded do steps 11-12 listed in the link below. once done it will lead you to the nandroid menu and navigate to the (restore backup) and then select advance backup or restore forgot what it was then select the file you have copied from desktop to the sdcard then let it load and reboot then done......

I don't know if you understand that but lmk

Downgraded to a backup image I made before the 2.1 upgrade. Smooth as silk restore. 2.1 is still too buggy for my taste. Good work on it through.

I have backups (one, really, just before I tried 2.1) but I'm wondering if there's a way to return it all the way to stock. I know I can just apply the update.zip for 2.0.1 and that will get rid of root and such, but I want more than that, I want something that brings it all the way back to stock. Now that there's better su methods (magicandroidapps, etc) I'd like to have that, as I don't think the first root method will allow you to be root in the recovery mode (or at least I can't figure it out). Also, I'd just like to see if I can do it all the easy way instead of all the commands and such.

    Any ideas?

Can you please post your 2.01 back up files. I tried to do the update zip flash but it failed.

Not sure who you are talking too. Its laggy in some respects depending on what you do to it. There are random freezes for no reasons which are kind of annoying. The gallery picture view (a cooliris tool) is really cool.

Sorry to change the subject but can someone post the original boot screen file so I can do away with the android peeing on the apple icon? I think it's cool that they modified the boot up screen but I don't like having the peeing android on mine.

thanks, i actually found it and installed it before i noticed your reply. i think the peeing android was cool but i guess i'll just use the original for now.

Thanks also for your great tutorial on how to use the sdk program. i've had for weeks now and didn't know how to use it. i think i downloaded it before i bought my droid.
