How do I connect with my laptop?

I have the latest drivers - I did a search for updates. When I plug my phone into my laptop USB, it isn't recognized & nothing happens. On explorer, there's "mobil device" but nothing in it. I tried the "run" command with MotoConnect.exe, MotoConnectService.exe, and sevenza.exe.

How do I connect so I can see my files, sync if I want to, load songs, etc?

Have you tried on a different computer? Simple things like this have worked for me in the past. You are sure you have the latest drivers?

What setting is your phone on? My Laptop and Desktop require a different setting for some strange reason. Mass storage and PC sync
