I'm curious. Where was this (your right) in the AUP or ToS? Because I didn't see it.

    Customer Agreement | Verizon Wireless

Basically, when you signed your contract, you agreed not to modify your device. You need to root to use WiFi tether, thus modifying your device.

Lol yup! I have not ever had a problem with tether...however, I never use it....I may check that it works but that's for one second to see the mbs up and down...I agree, tethering (over tethering with greed) is one reason I believe the prices are as they are....

Go over to Verizon and ask them to unblock that for you.

Didn't have to root before. So using PDANet does not violate this agreement verbatim because you don't have to modify the device.
    Just throwing stuff out there

disregarding whether its someone's right or not, is anyone working on a bypass for this? And I mean a simple bypass, not the TBH one.

Tethering has always been against VZW TOS, but I can't read through their fancy legal jargon to find it.

When you sign a contract for a specific device, the terms of the contract apply to THAT DEVICE. Verizon didn't just pull the $30 data package outa nowhere.. they calculated the average data usage of their customers and priced the plan accordingly. Then when people abused the plan, Verizon took action. I really don't understand why many of you struggle with this concept.

It's not that they don't understand it, it's they're trying to justify what they're doing since no one tried to stop them. Now that they've been stopped, they're whining.

Tethering is very easy and isnt against your TOS. You pay for data, if you use it all up like an idiot and try to rape your carrier, then you need to pay for your crime. Hence why verizon put a cap on the BS jar that was overflowing. Now, you want to use it, pay for it! If everything was free in this world, we would all not have a thing!

Stop crying about something you yourself have a right to use. Just fix the problem and PAY for ur service like a real human being should.

Use easytether and buy the pro version and u will be all set to suck up all your data plan usage.
