I downloaded a new theme for my thunderbolt and when I hit the home button it asked me if I wanted to set my newly installed theme as the default or leave the original, by accident I chose to keep the original and now each time I hit my home button will go back to the default theme I need to turn this off

Theme or home replacement app (launcher pro, adequate, etc...). A theme is for rooted phones running a custom ROM. If its a home replacement app you can download home switcher from the market. It will allow you to set the new app as the default.

No problem. Go launcher is a replacement for the standard/stock home screens you see on your phone. If you downloaded a theme for it, the theme will not work without the app. Did you install home switcher yet? I will explain rooting once we get you set and running with go launcher.
