    Hello everyone,
I have been having horrible battery life since I rooted(on dec. 3rd), so I know this is not a problem with the rom, but rather a problem with my phone. I have tried clearing stats, and setting up profiles under set cpu... Last night I went to bed at 2am with a full battery, when my alarm went off at 7am my battery was down to 2o%...I have a profile set for when the screen is off to clock to 250 max and 250 min, so how did my battery drain so fast with that profile in effect? Like I said I know this isn't a problem with the rom, I am just hoping on of you can help me figure this out.
    Thanks
    Cara

Try different kernels. Sv and LV. They react different in each phone.

you prolly have some app or widget using data whilie you sleep...try turning everything off when you goto bed...wifi, bluetooth, sync, even go to settings>wireless and networks>mobile network and disable data. i think there's widgets available in market to make these switches easier...i think tasker will even let you do all of this automatically at set times...but if you wanna isolate it to a specific app you'd need to do away with a few at the time...or even one at a time.

You should wipe battery stats on a full charge, then let your battery drain all the way, then charge to full again.

I don't think your min and max should be the same. Make your max when screen off around 400 and min lower. Use "on demand" for your overall governor in set CPU.

Also check set cpu to make sure the governor is working properly (it will bounce around between min and max if on demand is working).

Screen brightness, auto sync, wifi and more will effect battery.

What kernel and rom are you using? Could be a bad kernel rom combo.

Make sure its a LV kernel not a standard one... assuming it works with your phone (personally I only have issues with ULV)

I am using Sourcery rom(yea it's magic) and the Slayher 1100 kernal...I will reset my screen off profile to 400 max and 250 min and switch to the overall governor to on demand(I think right now I am using interactive)... what should I set my governor to with my screen off?
    Thanks

Ok any recommendations if I don't care about compcache, I just want it to reasonably fast and have good battery life, since I have rooted my battery only lasts about 3-4 hours with moderate use no matter which rom/kernal I use...
    Thanks

not related to rom so I am going to move to the Android Roms section in Hacking area.
    might get more visibility there.

No I do not use compcache. It starts fast but ends up slowing your phone down and killing your battery. All of my profiles are set to on demand. Make sure u have profiles for below 40 percent and 20 percent battery and temp. Your overall governor should be set to on demand also in my opinion. Make sure you are using a kernel with an interactive governor.

OK I have installed p3's low voltage 1100 kernal and changed profiles to make the governor run on demand and turned the brightness down on my screen, I had 100% battery at 2:35 pst... I am going to let the battery run down and see how long I will get now, almost anything will be an improvement... Thanks for all your help everyone, I will let you know how it turns out...:)

@stelv why would it matter if you have a kernel with an interactive governor if all your profiles are set to ondemand?

Hey Cara. I would actually recommend you lower you clock speed and use a different kernel. A lot of people use 1000, 1100 and 1200mhz kernels but I dont recommend it based on what I've seen for speed differences and battery drainage. I stay at 800mhz standard/medium voltage and most devs nowadays load 800mhz stock with their roms, myself included. Just a thought.

    metiCkOne,
I would try that, I don't think it really makes my phone any faster to clock to 1100, infact the laginess I seem to get when opening my app drawer, or going to my home screen seems to increase with the higher clocking speed. I only got about 5 and a half hours of heavy/moderate use out of my phone switching to a p3 kernal, which was about twice as good as I was getting, but still... I will try a 800, but where do I find one of those?
    Thanks
    Cara
