homescreen takes forever to load

I have nothing special on my phone stock everything. No active walpaper running, deleted everything I don't use anymore.I have no big games maybe 5 at the most I have lookout and moblie defense running to track phone if lost or stolen. It ran great when I bought it a year and a half ago. This has been happing even before the new version came out it started after one of the system updates, but it has been awile that I done the update not sure now which one or for what it was for. It seems to be getting worse or I'm getting sick of it, I just thought everyone had the same problem. It have never ran like it did even when it was 8 months old, when I downloaded everything and had live wallpapers running all the time. Now I have pretty much everthing deleted and this sucks..... please help to fix it but I don't want to do anything to my phone that is n ot stock like rooting it.
