I think this has been asked and not answered in the past, but I will throw it out there anyway.

Loving UD9 and Helix, however, I really do miss being able to completely hide the status bar when I was using Home++. It just looks so clean with full screen.

Can someone point me in right direction to be able to have that option with UD and Helix?

    Thanks!

    JJ

It's a consequence of switching. Right now only Home++ supports that functionality, might be released in a future version of helix.

If you cough up a donation to the Helix dev, he'll grant you access to Helix 1.3Beta, which allows you to hide the notification bar. The phone looks soooooo much better without it... It's still a little buggy, but for the most part it runs great.

BetterCut does, but the icons get slightly distorted. Not awful, but not as perfect as stock icons.

Well it did work for me, if you clicked on activity and selected whatever you wanted to change, but even that does not work anymore so bettercut is useless to me right now.

Need to locate the devs website so I can do that. Well worth a donation to keep development going.

Ha, no! ;) I'm just a grateful donor myself.

I found him on this link:

[APP] HelixLauncher: ON MARKET! UPDATED [140310] - xda-developers

Check out his signature for the donation link.

The hidden bar isn't 100%; this version removes the bar completely, so when you pull up notifications there is a blank "hole" where the bar would normally be (and is for Home++). It re-appears when you have applications open, though, so it's not GONE gone. Probably just a bug he needs to fix.

Done! Thanks for lwtting me know about it. I actually like the bar coming back when you open an app.

I posted this on the XDA forum:

2.0.7Beta1 looks great, but I think if the hide notifications is turned on, there need to be a way to show them.
Perhaps adding the option back to the menu button or much better, showing it if you long press the menu.

Hopefully that will follow in a future build.
