I'm not sure if there is a thread on boot sounds if so I can't find it ...
My question is Does anyone know where the droid sound is located and if I can change it to something else?

You can also put an .mp3 file on your sdcard in a folder called "notifications", however some roms take longer and or two-three times to boot when using a start up sound from the sdcard.

    good luck

Maybe I am wrong, but theres no such thing as a boot sound. The DROID thingy you hear when you turn your phone on is the SD Card notification sound, meant the phone just found your SD Card... If you turn that notification off, like me, in the settings menu it no longer makes that sound. So yea you can change that and keep it on but its for the SD and not a boot...

^^^ Yes, that is correct, but left it out for my own reasons. The sound that plays when the Droid starts up is the sdcard notification sound, not a boot sound. It is switchable by going on phone:

menu -> settings -> sound & display -> SD Card notifications "check box"
