First things first. Make a backup.

Now, here are a few of my boot animations made as a simple update.zip. You NEED to be rooted, and just apply these in bootstrap recovery as a .zip and they *should* work.

****EDIT*** I updated all the mega uploads on the first page.. If there is no link, its because i lost the file when i erased off megaupload, and I NEED somebody to email me the files of whoever had
the Rick Roll
Star Wars
Blue lightning
Bed Intruder.

If you have those files, please PM me.

This is a update.zip. Just apply with bootstrapper or equivalent.
(NO working animation)

Here is the best boot animation ever-ish.

Tried to install custom boot animation with sound, said applying update.zip, but then just stayed there. Pulled the battery X booted back up normally. Tried again, same results.

Rooted droid X, with 2.2 installed, Installed bootstrap recovery successfully, rebooted into recovery. Attempted to run the update.zip, and like I said, it just sat there. Then finally I pulled the battery and re-inserted the battery, turned the device back on, nothing had changed. Not sure why just does not install the update.zip file.

Okay, are you selecting the apply zip from sdcard option..? Or are you doing the update.zip? Because these need to be applied from sdcard

yes selecting apply apply zip from SD card. whats weird it will say "installing update" then "replacing stock recovery with clockwork mod recovery" then I re-boot the phone, and default boot animation is there
