Tried to root. Everything looked ok. Now, the phone continues to power on and off when plugged into charger, shows red battery and flashing red light. Now, I am trying to go back to stock and can't.

It sounds like you have a 2.1 kernel installed on the 2.2 O/S

When did you do this process ?

Did you use fresh SBF downloads or did you use some you already had ?

I used this guide. I did not already have them. Tried to follow the restore back you posted, but keep having problems. Now, my computer will not recognize my phone as a storage device, so ZI can't download to SD, then install.

I would start over and follow MotoCache's guide one more time, something didn't go right

You can try factory reset, but I doubt it will do anything, I am at work and kinda helping on the fly, the last time I heard this same problem it was the wrong SBF file being flashed resulting in a 2.1 kernel on a 2.2 O/S creating these same issues, post in MotoCache's thread or shoot him a P.M. or better yet flag down someone from the rescue squad
