:welcome: to the Droid Forums. I run an app called handcent for my text messages and there is an area in the settings that you can add a signature to in there. I don't think it can be done with the stock app.

I'm not sure about the stock messenger app, but Handcent SMS (free on the Market) gives you the ability to do so.
