i dl the voodo app and when in the startup process there are 5 tabs under a status, (superuser app installed; checked, device rooted; unchecked, root permission granted; unchecked, system supports root protection; unchecked. protected su copy available; unchecked.) Does this mean my device is not rooted?

If all five tabs are checked, then you are rooted. Did you install the 1.6 utility as sydman suggested? Sydman is my guru for all things root... at least he has never steered me wrong yet!

no not all 5 are checked, which leads to believe i am not rooted..but the su app is still installed but not allowing any permissions. is it 1.7 or 1.6 i need to install?

If you are on GB .181 right now you are going to need the 1.6 version of the utility, link is in the second post of this thread.

Then the 1.6 Utility is going to be what you want to use.

Did you extract the entire zip file to either the desktop or the root of the C: drive into its own folder? Also if you did that and it didn't work you could try running the .bat file as an administrator.
