I have a rooted droid and I updated to the CM7 RC4 which was fine. Then I went to add google apps in the rom manager and my phone froze on the startup screen. I had to use my old phone now which has a deleted memory card. How do I get my phone back to the home screen?

Did you make a backup before you flashed the rom? If so, boot into recovery and restore your backup.

Battery pull, and hold x when you turn phone back on.
In recovery select wipe and wipe everything. Then install cm7 again.

Cm7 is based on a gb rom and unless your old phone was on gb than it won't read the card because it has been partitioned for the gb rom and would need to be reformated back to froyo.
Just wipe and reinstall cm7. If something bad did happen then chances are you will need to reformat your sd card or sbf your phone.

Yep put your card back in before you wipe and reinstall cm7.
And after you install cm7 go and fix permissions before trying to reinstall google apps.

It should be. Wiping clears out system stuff doesn't wipe pics and media.you wipe the phone because something got screwed up and you want to start fresh with cm7.
