First let me start by saying this is the first problem I have had installing anything on my Droid. Also I am using the most recent .99.3b recovery and have done updates this way a dozen or more times. So here it is:
I noticed last night that when I tried to apply an Update.zip to a ERES25 ROM(ChevyNo1), it started the updated and then stopped saying it could not find the file. I thought maybe it was because the ROM was a different build. Then this morning I tried another Update.zip and the same thing happened. This time it was still the new ERES25 but it was on Pete's new ERES25. I tried to apply ChevyNo1 1.20 Kernel and got the same message that it could not find the file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Check the file extensions and verify that there are not two .zip extensions. For example "update.zip.zip"

Do not feel that way. We've all been there. I love the forum as well. My wife, however, does not share my passion. :)

Ok, but what about me!!! I know for a fact that mine doesn't have two .zips, because all I did after the last time I applied Chevy's 1.2 kernal was rename it to Chevys12update.zip. When I went to apply it to Pete's new eres25 rom, I got stuck on the moto M screen when rebooting...Had to battery pull....

    Any ideas?

Check the file, it should just say update if you are looking at it on your phone through Astro.
Trust me I just went through the same thing. Long press on the Update.zip on your SD card and select Details and I bet it will say update.zip.zip
Also make sure it is named "update" because is your post it says you named it Chevys12update.zip and that would be the problem

    Any other ideas?

You're right that my post says I named it that...but I did it in Astro by pulling up the rename menu and all I did was add Chevys12 in front of update.zip so I'd know what it was for and not accidentally override it or delete it if I happened to put another update.zip into the folder where I keep it.

So, my original question remains. What happens when I've got it named right and I apply it and that works just fine, but the phone never passes the Moto M log when rebooting afterwards?

    Thanks!

Jonny, move the file to your computer to verify the file extension. If the extensions are correct, I would check to see that there are not any old .zip file still on the sd card. If you have multiple .zips I believe that will cause a problem.

Guess I'll give that a try.

Mike, thanks for your help, but this isn't my first rodeo here. lol. I used this kernal on Bugless Beast .5. Worked just fine. After applying it, I kept it. ALL I DID WAS ADD CHEVYS12 in front of update.zip and move it into a folder so it wasn't on the root. I did so using Astro.

Before moving it back to the root and taking chevys12 off of the front (I didn't do anything with the extension whatsoever. I've seen that issue before...AND I know how to properly rename files), I checked to make sure there wasn't another update.zip in the root.
