Help with recovery

I have been out of the android world for awhile and I have forgotten how to boot the D1 into recovery. I believe it is hold X and the power button, but when I do that the phone gets stuck on the M Logo. Any ideas? The phone is not rooted.

I hold x and power but let go of both as soon as the M appears. Good luck!
