Help with motorola droid 3???

Hi I'm trying to get some help with my second droid 3. I love the phone and now have bought two but they both have the same Static screen? The first one I dropped and thought I had done something to it, and I really loved the phone, so I bought a second one. Now it has done the same thing, without any assistance from me. I assume that you call it the static screen due to it only showing a white screen with red and blue static dashes. It won't even power down, I have to pull the battery. I have done a little research and it seems to be a software issue, so is there a way to fix it? I caved and got an iphone 5, but compared to my droid, I would much rather just fix one of the droids. Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
