i went to a ringtone site and when i tried to preview the tone i could not get any sound from the droid. is there a way to hear the previews

Well, that would wholly depend on how the site is streaming the music... if it is via a Flash based app... then no.

Otherwise... maybe.

the site that i am going to is called CELLSEA. to preview the ringtones you just click on the play button and on a regular computer it plays a preview of the tone, on my phone there is no sound when i do this. im not sure what kind of info that is needed to give a good answer

Did you make sure your media volume was turned up?

CELLSEA uses Flash to play the preview.....You will not hear it on the Droid.
The icon changes to a Play arrow....but you will not hear it play.

Go to a site that doesn't use Flash to preview the tones, or wait until Flash is released for Android in 2010.

The answer is no. All websites use flash to preview the ringtone. There is no way to do it on the droid. Use your PC.
