I just d/l adfree from the market. I was able to update the host files, no problem. But, I am still seeing ads on webpages. What's weird is before I installed this app, it would show where the ads were as a black space, but didn't show the ads. After installing this app (adfree), it has done the opposite, it shows the actual flash image for the app now, wtf? rofl.

I cleared the cache on the browser and also rebooted. still nothing. Am I missing a step?

    Thanks.

Do you have your browser settings for plugins set to 'on demand'? This will require an extra press to watch video in the browser, but will keep flash ads and other content from loading automatically...

I use AdFree but I only notice it removes Ads from apps, I'm not even sure if it's supposed to remove them from the browser.... maybe I just missed that part?

no the setting is on always on. not on demand. on one of the apps it did show the working icon with the spinning arrow, instead of the ad. Is this how it works?
