you have a mem card right

Put it on the sdcard in with your music then send yourself txt message with it attached, then you will have the option to save as ringtone
There maybe other ways but this has worked so I always do ithat way.
thats how I been doing since I been on verizon worked since I had a razr.

Are you trying to make it a voicemail message or a ringtone?

So that didn't work, it only lets you make a ringtone from it. Still looking for an answer to this as well.

the above mentioned way does not work.
personally I don't think you can attach a mp3 as a voice mail message.

If you want to use it as your voicemail message that people hear, you can't attach it at all. You have to go into your voicemail setup, select to record an outgoing message, and then play the sound on your computer and hold the phone's microphone up to the speaker.

    email them

ask them how you are suppose to implement it on your phones network.
Maybe there is a way. I really thought from your original post you wanted it as a ringtone.
after reading a post saying my method is redundant I had a look never noticed the droid has the option before you would send to email :)
with my samsung flipshot, LG dare and Moto Razr I always had to txt them to myself to get the option to save as ringtone :(

Yeah, my brain was thinking one thing but typing another. With my old Voyager and Razr I was able to text the ringtones to myself as well. Phonezoo.com has some fun and free ringtones.

yea you can text something and apply it as a RINGTONE, but on a Droid not as a voicemail.
there must be a way, I mean come on ... the baddest cell phone on the planet and we cannot do something as simple as this? There has to be a way.

Janice I assume you never got it to work.? I would think that since this is the phone that allows you to multitask it would be possible to play the message from the stock player at the time you would need to record. I've never tried to place a new voice mail message on there. But I have used shazam while playing from my phone. So I know the concept should work.

The only way with using Verizon's default voicemail system is to use it as stated before and record it while playing the sound. How ever, there is an alternative to the default voicemail system. I personally use YouMail.com they will allow file uploads to be used for your greeting. They also have a free app that is like visual voicemail where it downloads your voicemails to your phone.
