I have two themes I like - at least parts of each. Both are of the update type, not MM

I transferred them to my pc,unzipped them. Swapped .apk from the one I liked to the one I did not like. After doing this, i zipped from win 7. Put it back on the SD Card.

Opened clockworkmod recovery and selected the zip file. Did the install. Did not get the 'install completed' but did not get any errors also.

Did not take, same as before.

Am I missing a step? This sounds like what everyone is doing when they are creating their own themes.

    Thanks for any help.

Don't unzip either of the update.zip packages. Open them as an archive and drag from one window to another.

I find theming to be much more workable by just pulling and pushing the APK files myself. MetaMorph is kinda nice to but doesn't work on market apps, which is why I push pull them also.

    questions

First, thanks for the responses. My newness is showing - I have a couple of questions.

running windows 7, cannot figure out out to open as archive. Any pointers?

When you say push/pull I am going to assume you mean from the zip file (unzipped) moved into the /system/app? Then reboot. Is that correct?

    Thanks

Using 7zip, right click on a .zip or .apk file andin the menu go to 7zip. Then go to open archive. By doing this is doesn't brake the signing of a .apk or update.zip
