Help needed with Droid X HDMI Cable

i just bought the cable today after shooting a video at my sons school this morning hoping to see the video on my samsung 60inch with the hdmi cable , i play the video on my Droid X and click on the little box in the upper left corner that has the play button wih HDMI under it and all i get is "HDMI CABLE IS NOT CONNECTED"

can anyone help me with this issuse b4 i take this cable back

sounds like you did everything correct.....maybe check to see if it works on another TV if you have one available.

is it an official HDMI cable from verizon or some 3rd party one?

i have ZERO issues following the same steps as you did with my official cable.

i bought it today from a verizon store and i tried it on another tv in my sons room on his samsung 40 lcd tv and the same result, im thinking its not reading my port on my cell phone, because it keeps saying " HDMI cable not connected"

i even checked to see if there was some settings on the droid x that i had to change and couldnt find any
