By chance do you keep your phone in your pocket? Happened to a friend of mine.moisture was the problem.

That sounds about right... I was gutting a house with my baby in my pocket... I will have to be more aware of moisture. Thanks for easing my mind!

This same thing happened to my husband's phone. I booted into recovery and cleared the cache, that helped some but finally had to resort to flashing a new rom on his phone. That seems to have fixed it. We did notice that it was more problematic and showed off more when the battery was low (below 30%).

Went back to stock. Still going nuts!

Called VW for a replacement. It's on it's way.
