Guide to Rooting Android 2.1 on a Motorola Droid | Droid Life: A Motorola Droid Blog

After a lot of thinking and a pretty nervous decision making process, I followed that thread to the T and was able to root my stock 2.1 Moto Droid. After that I purchased premium Rom Manager from Clockwork Mod.

Can I download BB V1.0 ESE81 to PC, place it in root of SD Card and install that ROM directly from CLockwork Mod Rom Manager? My main purpose for the moment is to overclock, anywhere from 800-1000. I hope I provided enough info for you to help me out.

    Thanks a lot,
    Dave

ROM Manager does everything for you. Just select Bugless Beast, choose your kernel and theme, then there's options if you want to backup your current state (recommended) and wipe data+cache (also recommended). It will do a nandroid backup and install Bugless Beast for you and then reboot.

A thousand thank yous for the response.

Your suggesting to just do it all through Rom manager then? Don't bother using PC mount? Isn't it a pretty large download to do over 3G? Should I maybe wait till I get home and have Wifi?

Yeah, downloading it over 3G would be painful.

There is an option in ROM Manager to install ROM from sdcard, but you would need to separately install kernels, themes, etc. from Clockwork recovery.

Yes, but in order to do this you'll need the premium version of ROM Manager. If you have this, everything is a breeze. If not, you'll need to do as you said - and that's to copy the zip file into your SD Card and install from there, which is also a breeze.

Ok you can actually do this on your way to work or even during work. It'll take awhile to download Bugless Beast, but if you just start downloading and check your phone back in 10-30 mins the download would be complete.

In that case maybe I'll give it a shot Dl'ing now and just go about my day. Will emails, mms any notifications interrupt the download?

Nope, only thing that will interfere is if you power off your phone :)

Same way you would if you don't have Rom manager. Follow the directions from Petes original post on BB1.0.

Open Terminal Emulator (download from the market)
    Type in su (hit enter)
Type in the script you want (hit enter)

Ok, downloaded and installed BB V1.0 all through ROM Manager. Now its just cycling through the boot animation continuously.
