When I take a picture, the camera takes the picture, but when I go to look at it in the gallery, there is just a black box with no picture.

Is this a known bug and how do you solve it?

Check the camera settings. Open the camera and on the right you will see small icons. Tap the first it scrolls. tap default.

I had a problem similar to this. After clearing the settings in the camera app, I renamed the folder where the pictures are stored. The next photo i took worked and recreated the "Camera" folder.

I had this same problem. All I did was pull the battery and let it sit, then reboot it. After that everything started working again.

Glad you got it corrected. Sometimes it is the simple solution that rectifies the problem.
