Search YouTube for droid x 340 sbf. It's very simple. You'll need to download the file, rsd lite, and the moto drivers.

That's everything you will need. As for the pics if they saved to your sd card you may be ok!

First Off. clam down homie. breathe bro.

Theres a simple way to fix this. no need to get ill. SBF it homie. all your pics should be on your SDcard unless youve changed the set up for that.

Once you SBF the phone back, you might consider rooting so you don't get unexpected updates again. You don't have to change anything with the root. You can do it in about 2 minutes and then leave it totally stock.

If you delete pics from your sd card.. there is a way to get them back using normal file recovering software for windows. There is 1 that I used before.. it was free... and I totally forgot the name.
