Haven't been in the scene for a while, what do?

I'm on the angel rom, but I haven't updated for a few months.
What's the best current rom out there? I wanna try something new, but I don't wanna mess my phone up. So I need a link or something telling me how to do it all perfectly. Also, is the gingerbread thing out yet? I hear that's the best thing I can get.

You need to do some research on this and other forums Dude!

We now have CyanogenMod 7 with a few minor bugs being worked on. As for instructions, there are posts all over the place on how to install each one.
