Power plus up on the directional pad and use an SBF to restore to 2.0.1 or the like.. There is a tutorial here somewhere but the point is.. you dont have to see it for it to work only have the USB drivers work.

It is hard to tell if it is working or not, now when it boots the backlight is just on, but it never seems to get into a fully booted mode, where the led lights up or it vibrates, or that adb can notice it.

I am afraid they will be able to tell that it was hacked and say that it was due to that.

If you sending it back under an insurance policy just break it all the way. Run it over snap it in half.

BUT ONLY IF YOUR INSURANCE COVERS THAT!!!!

The way stories like these tend to go is someone does that, they tell their friends who tells someone and then we read about them on the internet when they get arrested for insurance fraud. Hopefully folks realize that's not the stance DF can take here. We can not promote such activities, don't condone it and its probably best to not even joke about it. Sort of like the "funny" joke about the bomb in the suitcase at the airport will get you pulled out of line, you most likely will get a pm from someone here :)

thanks!

Honestly, if it's a problem like the screen not working, insurance / warranty won't care if you rooted, they don't actually look at the phones, they play with em for 30 seconds, see they can't get the screen to work, and give you a new one.
If you brick your phone through rooting and such, if they can't fix it, they can't see it's rooted, they give you a new one.
