Ok, so after a shat-load of trouble you can read about here...

    http://www.droidforums.net/forum/rescue-squad/49076-help-stuck-moto-logo-w-sp-recovery.html

I have my droid on the super old 2.0 system

All I want to do is root and be able to download rom manager.

What I was thinking was this: I have the option of running the OTA update to 2.1. and then installing SPRecovery via RSDLite. Using SPRecovery...all I have to do is download ROMs from developers subforums on here, rename them update.zip and install via sprecovery right?

Or is there an easier way to root SINCE I am on 2.0?
