has Droid 2 global's bootloader been decoded?

    It wasn't last time I read about it back in Sept.? Where does it stand now? Can customized kernel be installed in it?

    In a lot of ways there's no need for a new kernel -- anything you really need to do you can do externally now. Overclocking, for example. Tethering capability is also built-in.

    Nexus line is googles flagship and yes they are quite unlocked. Don't know about dinc.

    Oh and the kernal thing isn't nearly as big an issue as the inability to fully flash an alternate recovery image imo.

    You keep the stock kernel. Other than that, not much.

    Oh, and the Nexus 1 and S are not made by Motorola, so...

    Can't flash alternate recovery. That means its never fully guaranteed to be there. I've never personally had a problem with it but still, I'd like that type of security. Also the scope and breadth of roms is more limited since they have to be built with the Motorola firmware as a base.

    No more like every day you boot in to recovery and its stock. You have to hop on one foot while whistling dixie in a thunderstorm to get in to your custom recovery sometimes.

    Oh ok thanks. Doesn't sound too bad just annoying. CW locks on first boot for me anyway.

    Can't hack into bootloader == no nandroid, is that the only thing missing, can you place your own update.zip then?
