According to his log, the only additions are FLAC support and the ability to go back to the old lock screen. If you already have 7.4, you can just download the update file that contains those 2 additions. It's right at the top of that link you posted.

I just installed BB 0.7.4 yesterday. It didn't have those 2 additions obviously, but it runs like a champ. Very fast and stable so far.

FLAC stands for free lossless audio codec. The file sizes are larger than mp3, but they are much higher quality as well.

Unless it's something else that I am not aware of, FLAC is an lossless audio codec. It is similar to MP3.

I'm confused...Why is it everytime I update, I lose everything!! Is there a way to upgrade to 0.7.4 and still have everything you had on the previous version?

I update using the update.zip method and I do not lose data. Do you use the nandroid method? If so back up your data/apps and then reload after the update.

i just updated to get the old lockscreen back. everything seems good so far. this is my third time doing an update.zip and it's all been flawless so far.

i hope we get the taz kernel so we can view the actual CPU temps. anybody know if pete will update BB so we can see the real cpu temps.

You can add the Taz kernel. I have it and am running the 1.1 ghz. The new setcpu is good too. I love having the chip temp in the info bar. BTW, I do run BB7.4

if pete is going to eventually add the support then why go through all the trouble? if we get word that he is not going to add the support then i will eventually add taz's kernel. i'll hold off a little bit and see what happens.

i am running the latest 7.4 update (2/7/10) and just flashed to Taz's kernel so i can get actual CPU temps. i installed the 950mhz kernel and am running it at 800mhz obviously using setcpu.

all is going well. and i feel much better seeing actual CPU temps instead of the battery (or whatever) temps. i know i said i was going to wait, but initially i felt intimidated by the process of doing the flash, but i read up on it. i am not one to jump into things and this is the first time i have ever hacked anything. it's all new and kinda scary to me.

also the thread on alldroid.com says we also have to update the kernel for wifi, but i am wifi tethering right now as i type this and it's working fine. maybe pete's BB7.4 doesn't require the fix. i also just tested wifi using the browser on the phone, works fine. so i guess we don't need the wifi fix.

now all we need is for setcpu to change the battery temp fail safe to the cpu temp fail safe.

And how do you use this method? I am using nandroid but when I restore things after the update it reverts back...What should I click to restore?

I updated to get the old lockscreen, how do I enable it? After installing the update.zip I'm still seeing the new lockscreen.
