My phone has recently started thinking that I'm holding the volume up key constantly. Unfortunately, my phone is out of warranty. As such, I was hoping someone could tell me how to 'break' the volume button; apps don't work because the volume up button is constantly 'on'. Something that maybe maps the volume input to something innocuous, or preferably, do away with any function from volume key to os.

I feel comfortable playing around in a terminal, I just don't have much experience with commands, system files, etc so I don;t know where to look. what to do.

    Thanks in advance!

p.s. I searched for a while, but all I got was app suggestions, hence the 'apps don;t work...' statement.
