How do I do a hard reset and restore to factory settings? The verizon consultant set everything up for me, and its not how I wanted it and I would like to start over the way I want it.
I don't check this often, so please email me

1. Turn the phone off.
2. Hold the Power and Home buttons down for about 5 seconds.
3. A screen with an exclamation will appear. Tap the Search key.
4. Confirm the selection.
5. Select Yes — delete all user data then tap OK.

This should complete the Droid X hard reset.

THANK YOU...you saved my butt:icon_eek:
I had lost my home screen after a factory reset .due to a backup program.
I had no way to key into the on screen setting, pulling the battery was no real help.
One side note:
"Volume key" make choice selector go up or down.
The OK button is the "Camera button"
