Happy Birthday Android! Andy the Android Turns 7 Today!

It's that time again... Andy the Android just had a new birthday! It's crazy how fast time flies, but November 5th, 2014 is Android's 7th birthday. November 5th, 2007 was the day that Google surprised everyone by creating the Open Handset Alliance along with the Android OS, instead of creating a locked system like iOS. Most people in the mobile industry knew that Google would come out with a touch-screen smartphone, but no one expected it to become the dominate mobile OS of choice in just a few short years.

Below is that first video of Google announcing the Open Handset Alliance. After you watch it and reminisce for a bit, go find some cake and/or ice cream to celebrate Android's 7th B-Day!

I didn't get into Android until Verizon launched the Motorola Droid.

My youngest daughter will be 7 on the 15th.
In 7 years Android has become the largest seller and plagiarized heavily by the other os that's just a bit older while in that same 7 years they are doing their darn well best to be more like the os that's plagiarizing them ?!?!

Wow can't believe it's 7yrs already. Too bad for 2yrs it was pretty much unknown still. Really happy to see that it made it from "behind the shadows" and has become the most popular mobile OS.
