I just installed the ROM for BB 0.7.5 and now, while my Droid is plugged into my laptop via USB and the phone says it's charging, it's losing battery life percentage at an alarming rate. It hasn't died yet but my red LED is staring at me.

It was at ~45% when I installed, about 30 mins ago. Now it's at 10%. BB is OCed at 1ghz, no apps running in background, and brightness is at the lowest setting.

Is my battery really being obliterated by BB or is this a glitch in the battery measurement process in the ROM? Thanks everyone.

Well a computer barely gives enough of a charge as it is, now you're going to overclock it and expect to keep it charged?

Use a wall charger, I bet you're fine.

Are you saying that it's not charging at all? Or that it just amazed at the rapid loss? I would think that the downloading/installing/rebooting would burn up quite a bit on it's own. Even verizon's OTA update required a certain amount of battery to install.

He's trying to use his computer to charge it, which barely works as it is...but now he's overclocked to 1GHz and it's going to be even worse.

I had been on Sholes 2.0.3 for a while, at 800, and the battery life was a little worse than stock (to be expected) but nothing too crazy. When I'm plugged in now, the battery dropped almost 30% in as many minutes, all the while telling me it was charging.

I'm less surprised at how fast it dropped, as I am with the fact that it's still depleting the battery this fast while charging. Is the laptop's charging capability really that ****ty?

Yes of course. My battery lasts all day and more on 1GHz BB.

I a big advocate of a spare batter and wall charger. The convenience is incredible, and once you get this setup it's very hard to go back.
