Got the email and replied. Thanks again Helen!
Thanks again GROM Audio! Playing songs from my phone via USB to car stereo sounds great!!! I love it!
FLAC...Ok, now you have my attention. I have my entire 3,800+ CD collection ripped to FLAC with Exact Audio Copy (EAC), and it's stored on a 2TB NAS drive at home. I stream the music in full FLAC over BT now, but there are times I don't want BT on, such as when listening to the radio while using Google Navigation. Android doesn't allow you to send Navigation voice prompts to the internal phone speaker while sync'd via BT. Instead it wants to send the prompts over BT...but if the radio is on...no prompts.
Have to give this some thought.

With USB audio streaming through GROM-USB2P Car adapter kit the Google Navigation prompts will be sent to the car speakers, and will be heard through the stereo. In that case any audio source will mute, and the prompt will be heard. So you can listen to FLAC files through any media player, connect phone to GROM via USB streaming, and use Google Navigation at the same time.
OK, well that's the way the existing A2DP works. What I am looking for is a way to have ONLY the music audio go through the BT (or headphone or USB jack as it were), and have ONLY the Navigation go through the speaker on the phone itself. The real problem here is that since I use BT hands-free in the car to prevent having to hold the phone to my ear while speaking on a call, the phone ALWAYS picks up the car (or vice versa), the moment I turn the key on. This is FINE if I am ALSO listening to music streaming from the phone, however it is NOT fine when I am either listening to RF Broadcast radio or if I am not listening to music at all, but most obviously when I am NOT listening to streaming audio via A2DP. The issue is that the phone will ONLY EITHER send ALL Media audio, All phone audio or ALL audio to the car's BT.
In other words, I want ONLY Media audio but NOT Navigation audio to go through the BT A2DP. As it is, if I am not listening to streaming audio, the BT Media audio must be turned off from within BT settings in order to hear the Navigation prompts on the phone. But then if I want to hear Streaming Audio, I must then go back into settings and reverse that to turn Media audio via BT back on. This is a failure of Android to understand that not everyone will always run Media audio through their car, but would like to be able to without ALSO having the Navigation prompts forced there as well. Often times I forget to realize this and I'll set up a navigation to a location, failing to realize that I won't hear the prompts since I'm listening to RF Broadcast radio...then when I'm a good way off-course and realize it, I must adjust my course and change the BT settings.
If I haven't explained this properly or in a manner that makes sense, please let me know. If anyone can come up with a solution to this dilemma for me, it is probably you. If I can help you to find this, then I'm happy.
