I have been getting the same thing for about a week. I don't know where it is coming from but always seems to be spam stuff. I wish I knew where it was coming from so I can cancel it.

I had that a few days ago. The last thing I downloaded was a game called a zombie...something I can't remember the exact name. I just deleted it and haven't had the green thing show up since.

There is an app called Ad Detector that I found and it worked extremely well to find the apps causing me the same problem.

I can attest that AirPush Detector (5 stars), along with Addons Detector (5 stars), Lookout Push Ad Detector (4.5 stars), and a few others all rate well and are effective at identifying the culprets. Some, like Airblocker - Airpush Block and AirBlock (AirPush Blocker) also work to prevent apps from pushing these ads to the status bar.

The ads you are getting are almost assuredly as a result of certain apps and their advertisement revenue.

;)
