I have a need to get accurate GPS data out in the field. Is there such a thing as an external GPS antenna for the Droid to help improve the signal strength?

What kind of accuracy are you looking for? Are you looking for meter, or sub-meter? I don't think an external antenna would be compatible with the software already on the phone, but if you have a 3rd party program, it might work. There is a garmen 10, and it's bluetooth, you might be able to pair the two, and with third party software get it to read the antenna.
