Is anybody else having camera issues? I'd take a picture and my phone would become unresponsive. It'll just stay on the camera screen. I'm not able to exit it or take more pictures or anything.

Are you using a different kernel than the one that came with GPA14? That could possibly be the cause, as it was for me.

I'm running SetCPU in combo with ChevyNo1's 1.0Ghz LV kernel, and while the exact same thing happened to me last night, I found that when I clocked myself down to a more moderate speed, the camera became MUCH more responsive. Just my $0.02.

I'm using the stock kernal that came with it. You think a faster kernal would solve this problem?

A different kernel very well could help, but as always, YMMV:

Also, it seems other people have had similar camera issues before in past GPA builds, but I don't think Peter's been able to replicate it on his end:

I am having the same problem on liquid gb 1.4.2. I have also seen this trouble on other roms. Not many people seem to have this but there are some of us.

My camera is causing the phone to reboot, sometimes going into a boot loop and necessitating a battery pull. I'm running GPA14 with Pete's 1.0GHz LV kernel. Suggestions?

Try the SV kernel or a lower speed kernel.

    I don't have this issue. I'm running GPA14 w/NexTheme. I'm running Pete's 1.1gHz kernel.

I am running GPA14 with Pete's 1.00GHZ_LV_V0.2.zip and I am having camera issues where the camera will freeze after snapping photo but also I can't get the camera to bring up the focus frame that appears when you press the shutter button half way down. It just never appears and most of the time the pics are out of focus. I restored back to the same kernel but V0.1 and the camera works as it should. Just thought I would pass that info along to see if anyone else had experienced THAT issue.

I've been having camera issues with most of the GPA builds. I'm on build 4/23 of GPA15 now, and the camera becomes unresponsive for several seconds after taking a picture. It eventually starts working again. This doesn't happen every time. Sometimes I start the camera app and it does this. Other times, it works fine for several pictures.

I had a similar problem. I did 4 things and have not had the problem since.

    1. I rolled back to my previous kernel (v1. 600 lv) & no camera issue came up.

    2. I then reflashed the v2. 800 lv

    3. mounted my droid and renamed the DCIM folder (anything but DCIM)

    4. went to settings-applications-manage applications-camera- clear data.

unplugged rebooted and took a picture. I let the camera app make a new directory & it has been working fine since. I figured maybe my DCIM directory got messed up. I hope that helps.

I don't believe this is a GPA* problem. I have this issue with lots of different ROMs. I suspect it is either an issue with overclocking too much or going under voltage too much, but I can't prove that.

    I second that.

FWIW, I'm currently using GPA15 5-2 with stock kernel running at normal speed, and my camera problems are now nonexistent. :)
