So my off beat cell store sold theirs early, walked out of the store about 5pm with a fully functional droid x (PST). internet everything. well, while sitting on the charger, 2 hours later... the only thing that works is dialing and txting. Wifi stopped, verizon internet stopped, pretty much an brick. I did a factory reset real quick just incase it was something my nephew put in, but nothing. It says it connects to my wifi, but doesnt get internet.

I did *228 a couple of times with no luck. Just wondering if its just because i got it early and it'll work tomorrow, or if I quite possibly bricked the very first Droid X....

I was just going to ask if you did *228, then #1... hmmm.

Well, you could always try calling VZW support to see, but I have had a Droid X for over a week with no service issues, so I gotta believe your phone may be a lemon.

well it worked flawless for 2 hours, so idk. And i dont see how, even if its not supposed to be activated, it can have the wifi in my house connect, but not get internet.

Again, your phone can be activated on Verizon's network, I have been using a Droid X on their network for the past week with no issues. You definately have something wrong with the phone and you should either return it for a different one or call Verizon support (I called them and they were able to support the phone as of late last week).

You didn't brick your phone, that happens if you try to root it or load software on it and it doesn't boot up. It just sounds like you have a lemon.

Maybe you can fix it by putting a piece of Duct Tape on the lower left corner... lol (sorry, just kidding)

after an hour on the phone with tech support, trying *228 opt 1 and opt 2, then going to a tier 2 tech specialist, then doing some crazy ##2something number to get to crazy settings that she manually changed over the phone, still nothing. She said they are having "network engineers" work on the line within the next 4 business days to see whats wrong. after that its to replace the phone -.- so much for getting it early!

Hang in there.

Thanks for the post, thought stuff like this only happens to me. It'll work fine soon hearing the way you sorting out the problem-all in due time.
