I forced the uninstall via root manager, reboot, reinstalled from the market.

    If not perhaps reinstall again?

Ok I made sure I deleted voice search from root explorer then downloaded voice search from the market and it worked. I think you need to give it permission to work. That might be the problem. Maybe when I installed the rom I missed that step. Maybe

You could try the Liberty Toolbox >> App Management >> Remove App

Root explorer go to system then apps then google voice. The hit the rw at the top of the page so it reads ro that allows you to delete.

Is there anyway to do this if you do not have root explorer? Through Astro maybe?

Looks like there are at least 2 threads on this issue (with this one being one of them).

Here is the link to the other one:

    http://www.droidforums.net/forum/li...nt-install-google-voice-update-liberty-2.html

In that link, post #18 gave a step-by-step that worked for him and post #19 confirmed it also worked for them.

For what it's worth, in this thread, Red_Baran mentioned it in post #12 as a possibility.

If you try this method, you don't need root explorer.

If you try it and are successful or not, let us know!

Is this upgrade working smoothly... I have been running my old version for sometime because voice updates have made the app laggy.
