Hey gang.

My son just got a razr maxx and I'm trying to set up Voice on it. Just want visual voicemail.

I have no idea what the hell I did, but now, whenever you call his phone, it goes right to a recording that asks for a 4 digit pin.

When I try to configure Voice, it goes through the whole process until I get a message that says "Unfortunately, your carrier is currently not supported for automatic voicemail configuration. To use Google voice asyour voicemail provider, please visit the Google Voice help center for more information."

When I go there, it tells me to "go into voice settings and add another phone." Well I can't find voice settings.

Anyone have any idea?

There should be a number you have to dial at that unsupported carrier setting.. Or there used to be. Let me look around and see if I can find it.

Do you have to dial all three numbers?

Yes but only once.

One is for no answer and transfer to gv
Another is for no answer busy then transfer to gv
Forget what the last is for but all needed to setup first time then there is another set to disable if needed

Ok. Tried that. Still goes right to Verizon voicemail.

Any other ideas.

Thanks again, gang.

Ok one more thing I just remembered if you go to the phone dial pad then get into settings. Mine has 3 dots to do that your might be different. Then you see an option for voicemail as shown below. Click on that and switch from "my carrier" to gv

If you are having trouble configuring Google Voice as your voicemail service on Verizon you can make the switch manually by dialing these three activation codes:

[*]*71[Your Google Voice number]
[*]*90[Your Google Voice number]
[*]*92[Your Google Voice number]
From here:
Set up or Remove Google voicemail on your mobile phone - Google Voice Help

The only one I've ever done is *71, and it's worked fine for over two years now.
