Google Voice and Old Number

I couldn't find a clear answer to this question anywhere so I'll ask you guys.

If I choose to create a Google Voice number when I sign up, will the old numbers still be active. For example, if someone calls my home number, will it still ring, and same with my cell phone number? Also, if my cell number is called, will my home phone ring? Thanks in advance for your responses.

Your GV number is a separate number that forwards to your cell phone and another phone. Your old numbers are still active and people can still call you directly with those numbers. When someone calls one of those numbers it will still ring to that phone unless you forward THAT line.
