Well there is always new stuff and better stuff to come.
YOU have the choice....go and buy...or die!

I dont think it will be a droid-killer. It got stronger hardware, but the OS is the same!
So where is the deal about it?

I don't think anything is going to be a "Droid Killer" anytime soon! The Droid is packed with some awesome hardware that will hold its own just fine against anything that comes to the market in the next year...

there's alway's something better just around the corner. Do you want to get in on the release or wait for the next gen? that's always the question. I love my droid, but know in probably 2 months there's going to be a "better" or newer device out, oh well! Hey! In 2 years those newer devices will be old and antiques :)

HTC makes great products, Google is determined to take over the world, im sure itll be nice.

but new devices come out almost every 3 months, so its nothing new. some people jsut have to remain content with what they have.

Its HTC and AT&T how good could it be: )

On a serious note. Droid killer? No. Moto Droid is Google branded. They are not going to cut off their nose despite their face.

What makes it a 'Google Phone' rather than simply a new Android device? Just the possibility of marketing it themselves/via the alliance?

The OLY thing more powerful than the Droid that's coming out in any meaningful amount of time would be the HTC Passion. Is has the fabled "Snapdragon" processor. That'll reduce it's battery life to near nothing. Not enough will buy it because of that. Finally, it won't have a keybaord, which is, lets face it, one of the biggest selling features of the Droid. The Droid is king for a while. At least until June and all networks have the same 4G. Seriousy, be happy. You have the greatest phone on Earth. Maybe except for the Milestone, but that really is the Droid anyway. No phone will for quite a while have a significant amount of power in EVERY category and have EVERY feature. The Droid is here for a while. Finally, hte ONLY thing that could trump it would be the Geek Phone, which is just obscene. Byt that's likely a while off if it ever exists.

What in the history of mankind couldn't that same statement be made about?

All it look slike is an HTC rebranded. That said. The droid is the all knowing device. Only the IPhne compares in power. The Passion with have the snapdragon yes, but I wonder if it will come with 2 batteries :). As far as 2.1 being on it. In Janu. the Droid will be on 2.1 also.

Same here. And I don't care for trackballs either.
