Google Maps & Pandora Volume Problems

I have a HTC One, and every time I use google maps and have Pandora playing you can hardly hear the directions being said, there is no separate volume for Maps either.....

I'm using Bluetooth, but it also happens if I use an auxiliary cable........

Any recommendations...?

Also I don't remember this happening before but my Google maps times out after a while too, this is real bad because if you're not watching the screen as soon as you know it, you missed your exit..etc....
