Google maps keeps crashing.

So this morning I used Google maps/nav to get to a destination. Phone sits idle for 3 hours. I then open maps again and it crashes then force closes. Reboot. Nothing. Battery pull. nothing.
I have tried uninstall the updates. Nothing. Reinstalled updates. Still freezes if I scroll around on the map for a bit. It will then force close. I have found a couple people on android central mentioning it.
Anybody know what the deal is??? I use maps everyday. That's why I have a android and not a dang iPhone.

This latest version is just north of horrible. Not aure what they did but I can't wait until the next update.

It seems to be working okish right now after uninstalling the update, battery pull, reboot. After that it was still crashing. Another battery pull and reboot. I re-installed the update. Still crashed. I did another battery pull and reboot then left it alone over night. It hasn't crashed since then. Yes I don't like the latest update. It seems very laggy when its not crashing.

I hate the new version, all of my contact pictures are gone in Latitude.

New update just came out yesterday... Seems ok thus far.
