Google quietly released an update for Google Fit yesterday adding quite a few new features. Instead of just tracking your activity level and setting a daily goal for that, Fit can now track running, walking and bike rides in real time.

Fit can also now tie into several other apps to help give you even more information. Nutrition apps including MyFitnessPal, Fatsecret, Loseit and Lifesum bring diet monitoring into Fit. The Sleep as Android app, Xiamoi's MI bands, Sony's Smartband 2 and the Basis Peak can tie into Fit and track sleep patterns.

Android Wear integration is also getting some new features. Fit can now detect push ups, sit ups and squats through your AW watch. No word on how well this works yet.
