There have been numerous rumors for quite some time that Google is working on a new version of Google TV which will likely be called "Nexus TV." There is some new speculation circulating around the web that this Nexus TV might also be Google's foray into console gaming. Apparently, Google recently purchased several parts of the company called Green Throttle Games. This company is primarily known for its Android-based Atlas gaming controller and for accessories that might potentially offer Android gameplay on a TV.

This lead to a "conclusion jump" suggesting Nexus TV will include console-style gaming as well as the typical multi-media features found in a media hub. There's some intriguing drama built into this acquisition. Only two of the Green Throttle Games co-founders came as part of the deal when Google made the acquisition. The third co-founder didn't move to Google and still retains the Green Throttle business name. In fact, you can still purchase the Green Throttle Games controller, but it is basically useless. Back in November of last year, Google removed the app that makes it work with Android from the Play Store. They did this at the same time that Green Throttle Games announced they were closing.

It is suspected that this was when the negotiations and actual deal went through between Google and the Green Throttle company. As of now, the price that Google paid for the parts of Green Throttle Games it now owns has not been disclosed.

I guess the Xbox 360 controller is the defacto design now for other game manufacturers. I mean...c'mon, that is flagrantly copying.
