Group outing for dinner, convo, laughs, and camaraderie. 1st person to pick their phone up without an emergency PAYS the ENTIRE bill. Need to get back to enjoying and getting to know each other... GOOD OR BAD IDEA??

So how do you know it's urgent if you don't check it? Smart watches not included?

Great idea. Of course impending real emergencies are allowed. Proof required.
We make everyone put their phones in their purse, counter away from the table.

I think it's a good idea. It's really sad how social events turn into facebook posts and that's it. It's like people go out to show others online that "hey I'm out having a good time". Well put your friggin phone down is what I say and enjoy those you're out with.

I was out eating dinner with a friend the other night and I swear we saw this couple just sitting there on their phones while sitting right across the table from each other. Both of them were on their phones before, during, and after dinner with only a few spoken words to each other. Pretty sad to see. Basic human interaction has come down to a keyboard on our phones.

Socially inept people who sit behind a keyboard and share ever detail of their life to prove they have one.
