GNex gets hot and choppy in games. Tried wipe/reset. On 4.0.4 IMM76K

In the past month my Nexus has started to get very choppy after playing games for 5-10 minutes. I notice that it gets hot where I assume the GPU is, and while that does not really concern me the gameplay will start to get choppy when the heat levels out.

Happens in Kairosoft games, GBA roms, etc.

As stated in the title, I've tried a wipe/reset with no luck. The phone is currently rooted but that's it.

Any tips?

Almost two weeks back I started experiencing the same issue. Upon investigation I found the recently installed hotmail app to be the culprit. It was eating 40% of my batter power which is insane. I realized the problem surface after my recent installation of hotmail after the launch of outlook.com.

I uninstalled hotmail last night and everything is back to normal for me. You can check if you have installed hotmail and if you haven't then i am sure that there's something running in background which is eating up a lot of batter power and CPU memory.
