I was looking into the Gmail settings and under notifications there is an option that says, 'Notify once for new email, not for every new message'. Could someone explain to me what this means?
It will audibly alert you once when there is new email even if there is multiple new emails ... The other option will audibly alert you multiple times for multiple emails...
Say you have the 'Notify once for new email, not for every new message' checked. You open Gmail (or it refreshes and updates) and you receive say, 3 new emails. That option you checked will give you a notification for every new email you get, ie. 3 notifications.
If you have that option unchecked, you will receive just one notification for email, regardless of how many you receive.
Hope that helps!
EDIT: Sorry Bmitchell, didn't see your post. Thanks for helping clarify.
